Education Awards

Soroptimist International of Oakland's Live Your Dream Award supports women heads of household in improving their training to improve their family's financial future. 

The Violet Richardson Award, named for the club's first President, recognizes those 18 and under for community service.

Fellowship Awards, the signature project of the 55 Soroptimist clubs in the Founder Region, are scholarships for women completing their doctoral studies at programs in the region. 

Community Grants

Community Grants help support small but vital Oakland nonprofit organizations that are working to improve the lives of women and girls in our community. 

Community Service

Check out SI Oakland's signature activity -- the Shoe Project, offering low-income elementary school girls "steps to success."

Our club members treasure our community service projects because there's no better feeling that making a difference locally. From joining elders in a senior care home for a crafts project to raising funds to support a local program working to steer young women away from human trafficking, Soroptimists of Oakland get involved.
